In the event of total or partial non-payment of overnight stays, the customer must pay L'Orangerie the full amount of the stay due and a late payment penalty equal to three times the legal interest rate.

The legal interest rate used is that in effect on the day the stay is validated.

This penalty is calculated on the amount including tax of the sum remaining due, and runs from the due date of the price without any prior formal notice being necessary.

In addition to late payment compensation, any sum, including the deposit, not paid on its due date will automatically result in the payment of a fixed compensation of 40 euros due for recovery costs. Articles 441-10 and D. 441-5 of the Commercial Code.

Internal regulations

House rules are posted in our building. We thank you for reading and respecting them.

In accordance with local regulations, our teams may inform you of specific and additional measures concerning safety, hygiene, and the environment during your stay. We encourage you to take certain precautions to avoid any potential inconvenience: close your bay windows before leaving your room and lock your door.

We remind you that the Orangerie and its partners cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings left inside your room or house when you leave the premises.

In the event of failure by the occupant to comply with the obligations imposed on him under these terms, in particular failure to comply with the internal regulations, and more broadly as a result of any behavior contrary to good morals and public order within the establishment, L'Orangerie reserves the right to interrupt your stay and our teams may ask you to leave the establishment and your room.

Tenant's obligations:

  • Obligation to occupy the premises personally, to live there as a ""good father"" and to maintain them.
  • Respect the accommodation capacity of the home, fixed at a maximum of 20 people;
  • Respect the purpose of the home and not make any changes to the layout of the furniture and premises;
  • Not to be able to substitute any person whatsoever, nor to sublet totally or partially, even free of charge, the rented premises.
  • Refrain from throwing objects into sinks, washbasins, and toilets that could clog the pipes. Otherwise, you will be liable for the costs incurred in restoring this equipment to service;
  • Notify L'Orangerie or its partners as soon as possible of any dispute affecting the furniture or equipment. Repairs made necessary by negligence or poor maintenance during the rental period will be the responsibility of the tenant;
  • Authorize L'Orangerie, its partners, or any third party mandated by it for this purpose, to carry out, during the rental period, any repairs required by urgency. The tenant may not claim any reduction in the event that urgent repairs incumbent on L'Orangerie or its partners appear during the rental period;
  • Avoid any noise or behavior, whether caused by yourself, your family or your relations, that is likely to disturb the neighbors;
  • Do not cross the barriers and fences that have been put in place for everyone's safety;
  • Any broken dishes must be reported to L'Orangerie or its partners, and will be invoiced based on the replacement value.
  • The tenant agrees to insure against rental risks (fire, water damage). Failure to insure, in the event of a claim, will give rise to damages. The landlord agrees to insure the accommodation against rental risks on behalf of the tenant, the latter having the obligation to notify the landlord within 24 hours of any damage occurring in the accommodation, its outbuildings or accessories.The tenant agrees to provide a copy of their Professional Civil Liability Insurance when signing the contract.
  • Two sets of keys will be distributed at the beginning of your stay. Lost keys will be charged EUR 25 per set. In case of emergency, replacement sets are available at the lodge.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house. We provide ashtrays outside for our smoking friends.

Security deposit

The security deposit must be paid by check on the day of entry to the premises. The deposit will be returned to the tenant within a reasonable time not exceeding seven (7) days. If damage is noted in the exit inventory, after use of the equipment, L'Orangerie is entitled to retain all or part of the security deposit. The security deposit, less rental repairs, must in this case be returned no later than two (2) months from the exit inventory. The owner must provide the tenant with proof of the amounts withheld from the security deposit.

Inventory

Entry inventory

A joint inventory of fixtures and furniture will be drawn up upon the tenant's entry and will be subject to verification at the end of the tenancy. If the tenant does not object within this 48-hour period, the inventory and fixtures drawn up by the lessor and communicated to the tenant upon entry into the accommodation will be deemed to have been accepted without reservation by the tenant.

Exit inventory

An inventory and condition report will be drawn up by the lessor (or his agent) and the tenant at the end of the rental period. Otherwise (absence of an inventory and/or condition report and/or condition report drawn up unilaterally by the tenant), the absence of any objection by the lessor within 48 hours following the end of the rental period will constitute the return of the premises in good condition and/or a complete inventory.

The return of the keys to the lessor at the end of the lease cannot in any way constitute a waiver of rental repairs if it is proven that these are the fault of the tenant. If no inventory of the premises has been made, the tenant is presumed to have received the rented premises in good condition for rental repairs and must return them as such, unless proven otherwise (Article 1731 of the Civil Code).

Force majeure

L'Orangerie shall not be held liable if the non-performance or delay in the performance of any of its obligations described in these general terms and conditions of sale results from a case of force majeure. In this respect, force majeure means any external, unforeseeable, and irresistible event within the meaning of Article 1148 of the Civil Code.

Bicycles and games for children

The use of bicycles, tricycles, and scooters is provided as a complimentary service for your enjoyment. We strongly recommend bringing your own bicycle helmets, although we have a selection of helmets in various sizes available. Use of these facilities is entirely at the tenant's own risk, and we cannot be held liable.

Provision of firewood

The wood used in the wood stove is provided, especially for the colder months. This wood is provided only for use in the wood stove and not for use in barbecues. Campfires are strictly prohibited.
